Boost Engagement With Our New Automation Features

Boost Engagement With Our New Automation Features

We’re all for automation. Smart, sophisticated automation which strategically targets the right people for those moments when you’re busy actually living life. Because let’s face it, you can’t be (definitely don’t want to be) online all the time. And when done right, there’s nothing dirty about automating social media. But you have to know what you’re doing. That’s why we’re super excited about our new automation features which make building meaningful connections with your community so simple.

What automation can do for you

Social media automation has a bad reputation because so many people just don’t get it. Automation isn’t some button that you switch on once and forget about. Most people hear automation and they think: this is great now, my social media will be on autopilot. And that couldn’t be further from the truth. See you still need to show up and do the work. Even the best social media automation requires tweaking and maintenance from time to time. Understanding this is key to getting the most out of automation.

Used correctly, we’ve found that automation is a powerful tool for targeting specific segments of your social media community. This can help improve your reach and will ultimately boost your engagement. But here’s the thing: automation isn’t about making social media easier as counterintuitive as that may sound. It’s about taking a smart and strategic approach to social media management. Using our automation tools, we can help you reach and connect meaningfully with specific segments of your community.

How to use our new automation features

We’ve added two new automation features. Here’s how to get the most out of them.

1. Top New Community Members

We’ve added the ability to target new followers, Top New Community Members. This feature lets you target them via either tweet or direct message. We highly recommend that you experiment with this feature as it’s an effective way to grow your community and show your new followers that you appreciate them. Using this new feature you can thank new followers. You can also get creative by directing new followers to content that tells them more about your company such as a blog post.

To activate these automated messages:

  • Click the Schedule tab. This will take you to the schedule dashboard
  • From the Schedule dashboard, click Recurring Posts
  • To create a new campaign, click the New Recurring Campaign button
  • You’ll then be presented with the scheduling dashboard. Once you’ve added your message, choose who you’d like to target.
  • You can target new followers (Top New Community Members) via mention or DM
  • Once you’ve indicated when you’d like the message to be sent, save the message
  • And that’s it!

2. Recurring Tweet

Recurring Tweets are automated messages which are sent as often as you like. You can customize these tweets as you see fit. If you choose to leave the tweet text untouched, the tweets will include basic analytics about your Twitter activity. This includes the number of followers, favorites, likes and retweets you got that week. We recommend that you personalize this recurring tweet especially if you’re trying to actively promote something like a product launch.

To active these automated messages:

  • Click the Schedule tab. This will take you to the schedule dashboard
  • From the Schedule dashboard, click Recurring Posts
  • To create a new campaign, click the New Recurring Campaign button
  • You’ll then be presented with the scheduling dashboard. Once you’ve added your message, choose who you’d like to target.
  • To set up a recurring tweet, make sure you’ve selected Recurring Tweet
  • Once you’ve indicated when you’d like the message to be sent, save the message
  • You’re good to go
